The Process
Therapy is a process that looks different for everyone. While it's not always linear,
the things you discover along the way will make it worthwhile.
Build a relationship
This is one of the most important phases of therapy because being your authentic self and trusting me as a therapist will impact our ability to work together. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space that allows you to fully express your concerns, reflect on your history, and collaborate on goals.
Identify patterns & root causes
This phase of therapy can be challenging because it can bring up uncomfortable emotions, but I'll be right there with you. We’ll focus on understanding your thoughts, emotions, and relational dynamics. This will give us insight into how your past may be influencing you, while we work on building skills and self-awareness to serve you moving forward.
Heal and grow
In this phase we are actively processing the hard stuff. Now that you have coping strategies, we can address the patterns and root causes. We’ll explore forgiveness, acceptance, and
meaning-making so that you can write your life story the way you want.
Integrate your growth
During this phase we focus on sustaining meaningful change and enhancing your self-trust. We’ll continue to develop strategies for your emotional well-being, so that you can move through life with confidence. We get to celebrate your growth, address setbacks, and consider whether and how you want to utilize therapy moving forward.
