FAQ

I'm happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, I'm accepting new clients in person at Turning Point Counseling and offering virtual sessions. Turning Point Counseling is located at 4600 East Shea Blvd. #200, Phoenix, AZ 85028.

Is therapy confidential?

Therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions (such as harm to yourself or others, child/elder abuse, or court orders). If you have additional questions about confidentiality, feel free to ask.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions differs for each individual based on personal goals, progress, and the complexity of the issues being addressed. Together we'll determine the most suitable treatment plan for your unique circumstances.

What are you fees?

My hourly rate for individuals is $160 and my hourly rate for romantic partners/families is $180. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time. I'm able to provide you with a Superbill so that you can receive reimbursement from your insurance company for out-of-network benefits.

What is your availability?

I see clients in-person and virtually Monday-Saturday. I also offer evening appointments. Please reach out and we can find a time that works for you.

How do I find the right therapist?

Different people look for different things in a therapist. It helps to consider a therapist's specialties, approach, and personality fit.

I offer free consultations so we can get to know each other.

If we're not a good fit, I'm happy to provide referrals.

What if I don't connect with my therapist?

If you and your therapist aren't connecting, we can talk about it. What do you find helpful? What do you find unhelpful? It’s okay if the first therapist you see isn’t the right fit, even if that therapist is me. Therapy works best when you feel safe and understood, so switching therapists can be a normal part of the process and I value the health of my clients above all else.

What if therapy makes me feel worse at first?

Therapy can bring discomfort because we’re exploring thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may have been avoided. Like physical therapy, the process often involves discomfort before relief. We’ll move at a pace that feels good for you, and if things feel overwhelming, we can adjust our approach. My role is to help you build tools to manage those emotions while we work through them.
